| First make sure you are using the most current version of JAVA installed on your computer. The java website can auto detect which version you have installed on your computer and recomend an update option for you. If that does not work you can visit the JAVA Website home page and download the newest version that way. If after you have the most current version and you still have problems connections to chat rooms then follow the steps below. |
First make sure all of your browsers like Internet Explorer, Netscape or Firefox are closed and not running on your computer.
Then open the Windows control panel and look for the JAVA icon.
Open the JAVA options window. Look at the bottom in the Temporary Internet Files section and click the [Settings...] button.
At the bottom click the [Delete Files] button. It will ask you for confirmation to delete the "Applications and Applets" and to delete the "Trace and Log Files". Make sure both are checked and click the [OK] button.
When done with this close the JAVA control panel and Window control panel to return to your desktop. Restart your browser and clear your browser cache. After you have cleared both cache return to the website and try to access the chatrooms. It might take a little longer then normal the first couple of times because your computer is recreating the cache files. |
